DANR Announces Round 11 of the VW Truck Program
The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) announces Round 11 of the VW truck program. During Round 11, the remaining Volkswagen truck funds will be available for rebates. Depending on the number of applications received, this could be the final round of the program.
The program provides rebates to assist state and local governmental agencies in purchasing new Class 4-8 local freight trucks to replace old, high-emitting diesel trucks. The primary goal of South Dakota's VW Environmental Mitigation Trust Program is to facilitate the improvement and protection of the ambient air quality throughout South Dakota.
Total rebate per replacement truck will be about 35% of the purchase price of a new truck with an engine certified to EPA emission standards, 45% of the purchase price of a new truck with an engine certified to meet CARB's Low-NOx standards, or 55% of the purchase price of an all-electric truck. DANR intends to award funds to as many eligible applicants throughout the state as possible.
