The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources will offer Visible Emission Evaluation Certification ( Smoke School ) on April 23 & 24, 2024, at the Fort Pierre Expo Center located at 320 Casey Tibbs Street, Ft Pierre, SD. Only a limited number of attendees will be allowed to register per session. This requires advanced online registration available below. Please only sign up for one session. You may sign others up as long as a separate registration is filled out for each person. After registering you will receive a confirmation email, however if you don t get one please look in your spam/ junk folder. Please keep the email, as it will have a link to edit your registration if you later decide to attend a different session or cancel. Additionally, if an individual were to fail the visible emissions exam on his or her first trial, that individual may be able to attend the following session(s).
Smoke School certification must be repeated every 6 months. Each registrant needs to only pass a single run to become certified. This training class will be offered free of charge. Please see the agenda for directions and complete details. Again, if you plan to attend Smoke School, please complete the online registration as soon as possible to get your preferred time. Pre-registered attendees will be notified by email of any location changes or cancellations. On-site registration will not be available.
