On April 15, 2017, the revised General Water Pollution Control Permit for Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations became effective. Operations with coverage under the existing 2003 General Permit are required to obtain coverage under the reissued permit. The department is no longer issuing approvals for new operations under the 2003 general permit and the permit will be phased out as operations transition to the 2017 General Permit. Because some operations still maintain coverage under the 2003 General Permit, the department is still providing access to the 2003 General Permit.
