Plans & Specifications

Plans and Specifications reviews are part of the department's regulatory efforts to protect the state's surface and ground water resources and public health. The areas of responsibility include design criteria development, technical assistance, and plan approvals for the Drinking Water, Groundwater Quality, Minerals and Mining, Surface Water and Waste Management Programs within the Division of Environmental Services.

Note: All new public water systems constructed after October 1, 1999 must obtain a Certificate of Approval from this department before beginning operation. For more information, visit our New Water Systems website.
