Municipal/Domestic Wastewater Treatment Facilities

Wastewater treatment facilities which treat domestic or municipal wastewater and discharge to waters of the state are required to have a permit or permit coverage.

Individual Permits

Facilities with individual permits will have permit limits specifically for the facility. This includes both technology-based and water quality-based effluent limits. Modelling of the receiving stream may be required for some permit limit development.

Application Form

No Discharge General Permit

This general permit covers any minor non-discharging domestic wastewater treatment facility in the state which uses stabilization ponds or artificial wetlands to treat their wastewater. This general permit does not allow the discharge of wastewater unless in emergency situations.

9, 10 General Permit

This general permit covers the discharge of wastewater from domestic wastewater treatment facilities to waters of the state with only the (9) fish and wildlife propagation, recreation, and stock watering waters beneficial use or (9) fish and wildlife propagation, recreation, and stock watering waters and (10) irrigation beneficial uses. These discharges will be seasonal and not continuous.
