Wastewater treatment facilities which treat domestic or municipal wastewater and discharge to waters of the state are required to have a permit or permit coverage.
Facilities with individual permits will have permit limits specifically for the facility. This includes both technology-based and water quality-based effluent limits. Modelling of the receiving stream may be required for some permit limit development.
This general permit covers any minor non-discharging domestic wastewater treatment facility in the state which uses stabilization ponds or artificial wetlands to treat their wastewater. This general permit does not allow the discharge of wastewater unless in emergency situations.
