TreePlotter Inventory
In June of 2019, the Division of Resource Conservation and Forestry signed a 3-year contract with Plan-It-Geo to provide TreePlotter tree inventory software to small and midsize communities in South Dakota. Creating or updating tree inventories will be key in communities successfully planning for Emerald Ash Borer as it makes its way across the state. TreePlotter contains data with the most recent inventory information for applicable communities. This information dates to the Community Threat Assessment Protocol (CTAP) project completed in the early 2000’s. It is now time to update the information and even start inventories for communities that don’t have one.

Communities can take advantage of TreePlotter for free to inventory their community trees and have access to their live inventory. If you are interested in using this program and gaining editing privileges, please contact Rachel Ormseth, Urban and Community Forestry Coordinator, at 605.773.3594 or Rachel.ormseth@state.sd.us
