The State of South Dakota has permitted many different facilities within the state to operate as treatment sites for petroleum contaminated soil. A number of the permitted sites are located at Municipal Solid Waste Landfills or Restricted Use Sites. However, the majority of Petroleum Contaminated Soil Landfarm Facilities are permitted exclusively for treating petroleum contaminated soil


The mission of the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR) and the Drinking Water Program is to protect public health and the environment by providing natural resources assessment, financial assistance, and regulation in a manner that promotes a successful business climate and exceeds the expectations of our customers.
